Jomar Villamor started competitive shooting in 2006, participating mostly at USPSA handgun matches and 3-gun matches. Serving in the Minneapolis Police Department since 1997, he is a seasoned veteran officer having served in numerous assignments in patrol, investigations, SWAT, and firearms instructor. He has received numerous awards and recognition for his actions on duty, including being a two-time recipient of the MPD's Medal of Valor and also a two-time recipient of the MPD's Medal of Commendation.
Jomar is a believer in using quality and reliable equipment, especially when in a life-threatening situation where he needs to rely on his equipment to function at its best. Jomar carries this same belief in shooting competitions. Jomar became a proud JP Rifle owner in 2010 when he chose the LRP-07 as his competition rifle. The following is his testimony:
"As soon as I laid hands on my new LRP-07, I immediately noticed the quality of workmanship put into building the rifle. The ergonomics and design of the side-charging handle was very impressive. From the first shot, I was very impressed with how smooth the rifle operated. The low mass bolt and buffer system working in tune with the adjustable gas block significantly reduced the felt recoil that .308 rifles are so well known for. The LRP-07 has significantly stepped up my game in the competitions, and I continue to build up my skills to match what it's capable of."
