Bethany Harris was introduced to the shooting sports in 2010 and quickly realized what a great fit it was for her competitive nature, love for a challenge and enjoyment of the outdoors. In 2011 she started shooting 3-Gun with her first major event being the Blue Ridge Mountain 3-Gun Championship. That year she completed three major matches and was hooked on the sport. For the 2012 season, Bethany put iron sights on her rifle, and in June had the best birthday present ever; entry to the MGM Ironman. She closed out 2012 on a high note with her first stage win in a major match at the Blueridge Mountain 3-Gun Championship - the same match where it all started just one year prior.
In 2013, Bethany remained in the Tac-Irons Division, but placed a 1x red dot on her rifle (as suggested by John Paul) and ended the year with her biggest accomplishment to date, winning the Tac-Irons Division and taking High Lady for the match for the South Eastern 3-Gun Championship. Bethany believes that her success in 2014 was due to her CTR02. “The splits are quick and the gun is light allowing me to be faster on every level. Every time I pick up my JP Rifle there’s an automatic feeling of confidence that I can accomplish anything.”
Bethany says she is fortunate that her husband shares the passion for shooting competitively. They are proud to have JP Rifles support and enjoy being part of the JP Shooting family where they have made many friends and learned from the best. Her favorite competitions are open-terrain, outlaw 3-gun matches. They are true tests of shooting skill, physical conditioning and gear reliability. Bethany is looking forward to the next challenge where she can sling her CTR02 across her back and climb to the top.
