In response to demand, we’re now offering a new extra long tube as part of the JP Modular Hand Guard System. At 15.5 inches overall (three inches longer than the traditional full length hand guard tube), the new JPHG-6M tidies up the cosmetics of the rifle for those customers who prefer a concealed gas system on the longer barrels with full-length gas systems. The XL tube results in a more refined overall appearance to the rifle since most shooters never intend to use the gas block as a hard point for a backup sight.

The LRP looks great with the new longer hand guard. Additionally you now have more versatility in rail positions and less chance of deflecting the barrel.

When it comes to specific applications, it’s been a trend among action rifle competitors to prefer a longer hand guard tube because it better prevents accidentally deflecting the barrel on props and barricades. Also, on both our Advanced Manual Rifle Chassis System™ and LRP-07™ military and law enforcement configurations for snipers, the longer tube design allows for more versatility in the mounting of coaxial NV/IR equipment.
